Miami beach, the city, Wynwood walls, the Everglades and a sunset cruise we did it all during COVID. The world had changed, people were avoiding each other, we were not allowed to leave America, England was in lock down, but Miami didn’t change a bit. It was like going back in time where people enjoyed life and socialising.
Wynwood Walls

Wynwood Walls should be on your tourist to do list, even if you’re not that really into art, because even if you’re not into art, its still really cool to see. It opened its doors in 2009 and has since become a globally street art museum. There is art covering over 80,000 square feet of walls.
Note: This isn’t a free tourist must see, they do require you to purchase tickets, this you can do at the door or on their website. Most days they’re open from 10am to either 7-8pm – so plenty of time to add this onto your to do list.
I actually didn’t really know anything about this place, my husband saw this and decided it be good to check it out. I actually really enjoyed walking around and seeing all the art, it was really interesting, some were a little weird, but all very creative and talented.

So the Everglades was definitely on our to do list when visiting Miami, it isn’t something we can compare to anything back in the UK, considering we don’t have wetlands full of alligators and crocodiles. I was surprised at how large the everglades actually was, forgetting it is a national park.
We weren’t sure if we should tour it via the air-boat rides or tram tour. We researched endlessly and read many reviews on both. We decided with the tram tour and i’m so glad we did. It was such fun, we saw alligators and crocs up close and we were able to hop on and off. If I were to go again, i’ll pick the tram tour each and every time.
Miami City Cruise

When we vacationed in Miami, we decided to stay on Miami beach because that is where people have mentioned it was the best place to stay for a tourist. However, when we decided to visit Miami city, I was completely disappointed that we did not decide to stay in the city for our vacation. It is breathtakingly beautiful, and had SO much going on. It also wasn’t far from Miami beach at all, so defiantly could have visited the beach. Sadly, we didn’t have much time in the city during our week there, we left it quite late to explore it. I guess it was a good thing, because I definitely would have canceled our stay and booked somewhere in the city!
Perhaps, it is time to re-visit.
The little time we did spend in the city, we decided to make a whole day of it. So we booked a sunset city cruise. I highly recommend this, there are different versions of a sunset cruise on trip advisor. We were so happy we did, because seeing the city from the yacht in daytime to sunset was really something else.
Also, we bumped into someone who was from the same state and town as us! Literally, lived 5 minutes away from us. How crazy is that!
