March is full of celebration in recent years, from giving birth, becoming a first time Mum, anniversaries, friend’s birthdays and it becoming Spring! This year it was my eldest 3rd birthday!
I love this age, they can communicate more – in full sentences, they have developed a humor which will keep you giggling for days. They are a full on kid now and not a tiny toddler, they have developed more interests, starting to explore hobbies, making friends and they’re so much easier to leave the house with; as they can walk for longer and don’t need a diaper bag (my daughter is potty trained).
Previous birthdays, not that she has had many, have been a bit overwhelming. She hasn’t understood birthdays or why she is getting loads of new toys wrapped in paper, a birthday cake and everyone is gathering around her to celebrate. This year though, she fully understands what a birthday is, that she is 3 years old and she gets gifts – she asked for big big gifts.
This birthday I wanted to get a cake as in previous years we didn’t – we opted for a Unicorn cake as she is totally obsessed with them. We also decided to spend the day out; luckily the weather was amazing, so we explored the city and the aquarium. We even had a few goes on the mary-go-round. The next day we continued to celebrate but this time with a couple of her friends she made at school. We played with her new toys, had unicorn cake, and coloured on this huge new unicorn tablecloth I ordered.
